FUNDAMENTALS IN AROMATHERAPY UNDERSTANDING
With Michael Scholes
FEBRUARY 11-15, 2006
New York Open Center, 83 Spring Street,
New York, NY 10012
Registration: 212-219-2527
Join us for five days of exploration into the merging of science and aromatherapy in healing, with leading practitioner, formulator and educator Michael Scholes. Aromatherapy involves the primary study of essential oils, chemistry, botany, psychology, blending and hands on application. Within each of these subjects you will find several other subjects that if studied could take a life time to master. This program is designed to review everything you need to know about essential oils in order to practice safely and blend effectively whether you are a practitioner, business owner or end user. Topics covered will include: the psychology of smell; recent advances in distillation and extraction; aromatic alchemy, botany, blending and the use of essential oils in first aid and medicine. Study includes the detailed review and sampling of 140 essential oils, 20 absolutes, 20 carrier oils and 20 floral waters. This interactive program will involve multi-media presentations, case study reviews and the formulation and application of 25 blends in the most effective application techniques for massage, skin and hair care. This includes the subtle application of natural fragrances for emotional and spiritual healing through the chakras and specific points on the body. The day will conclude with group gatherings and the ritual use of sacred scents.
Michael Scholes has 18 years of experience as an aromatic consultant and over 7,500 hours of teaching experience. He is the president of the Laboratory of Flowers, an essential oils company specializing in organic and wild crafted essential oils for health practitioners.
Students at all levels are welcome to join this program. Certification will be presented on completion of a multiple choice exam that will be taken at home in an open-book format. This program satisfies any pre-requirements for the upcoming one year ‘Ultimate Aromatherapy Program’ beginning March 11, 2006
